The values of NARTURAA

Creativity and Joy

What would life be without the spark of creativity? For me, there’s no greater joy than the quiet rhythm of my hands at work—transforming raw materials into something beautiful, something alive. It’s not just crafting; it’s meditation in motion, a moment of pure harmony where time seems to stand still.

Every piece from NARTURAA is born from this flow—the same energy, the same passion, the same deep joy. I pour my heart into each stitch, each detail, because art isn’t just what I make; it’s how I feel. And I hope, when you welcome a NARTURAA creation into your life, it carries a little of that magic with it. ☯

Where Art Comes To Life

In a world obsessed with speed and excess, NARTURAA chooses a different path—one rooted in slowness, intention, and respect for the Earth. Fast fashion thrives on overconsumption, disposable trends, and hidden costs to both people and the planet. But I believe in something better: clothes that are made to last, not just to be discarded.

Every piece is crafted with care, patience, and high-quality materials, ensuring durability and timeless style. By embracing one-of-a-kind designs, I create garments that aren’t just unique—they’re built to outlive fleeting trends. No waste, no compromise, just thoughtful, ethical fashion.

The Art Of Mindful Making

Mass production has undeniably solved many challenges in our world—but at what cost? In the rush to automate and standardize, we’ve lost something precious: the mindful connection of creating with our own hands. Crafting isn’t just about the end product; it’s about the process—the rhythm of the needle, the texture of the fabric, the quiet focus that comes with every stitch. Science confirms what artisans have always known: handcrafting reduces stress, eases anxiety, and sharpens the mind. It’s therapy disguised as creativity.

Today, more people are rediscovering the joy of handmade. They’re choosing authenticity over convenience, soul over speed, and individuality over uniformity. At NARTURAA, every piece is crafted by hand—not because it’s easier, but because it’s meaningful.

Natural Materials

At the heart of my values lies a deep commitment to crafting with intention and respecting the Earth. I prioritize natural, upcycled, and second-hand materials, ensuring that every piece I create is not only beautiful but also kind to the planet. Even the smallest scraps—leftover yarns and textiles—are transformed into something new, reducing landfill waste and giving them a second life.

My preferred materials reflect this commitment:

  • Wool yarn (merino, mulesing-free when possible, alpaca, and other ethically sourced local wools)

  • Cotton yarn (organic or recycled when possible)

  • Hemp & linen yarn—each chosen for their low environmental impact and durability.

  • Driftwood, feathers, pinecones and other treasures I find in nature

  • Upcycled fibers & second-hand clothes

Crafting In Harmony With The Earth

"Because we have been disconnected from the impacts our clothes have on land, air, water, labor, and our own human health for such a long time, we've been lulled into a passive, non-questioning state of being as consumers. When we begin reconnecting these dots, however, we create opportunities to build new relationships that are rooted in sharing skills, physical labor, and creativity, all of which carry meaning, purpose, and a way to belong to one another and to the land."

Rebecca Burgess, the "Fibershed"

Fiber Art

My journey as a fiber artist is deeply rooted in the legacy of my grandmothers—both skilled seamstresses and artisans who used crafting as a tool for survival. Their lives were marked by hardship, yet their hands shaped beauty from necessity.

Honoring Tradition, Weaving Joy

Today, I carry forward their wisdom, not as a means of survival, but as a celebration of joy, creativity, and cultural heritage. Fiber arts are more than just a craft; they are a bridge between generations, a testament to resilience, and a canvas for reinvention. By transforming traditional techniques into contemporary expressions, I honor the past while weaving new narratives—ones that embrace abundance, creativity, and the simple pleasure of making.

Through fiber arts, I strive to rewrite the story of crafting: each stitch is a tribute to the hands that came before me and a gift to those who will follow.

Community

There’s something powerful about being part of a community that shares your values—people who care as deeply about the planet as you do, who find joy in mindful living, and who believe in the beauty of slow, intentional choices.

At NARTURAA, I’m here to inspire, share, and connect. Whether it’s through workshops, collaborations, or simply passing along the wisdom of traditional crafting techniques, my goal is to create a space where creativity and sustainability go hand in hand. Because the best ideas—and the most meaningful change—happen when we learn from one another.
