Who am I?

I’m Natalia, the proud owner of NARTURAA and the creative force behind everything you see here. My work is deeply inspired by nature and the timeless art of fiber crafting. Apart from my love for fibers, I also enjoy painting and creating décor from natural materials like feathers and pieces of wood. Every piece I create is a reflection of my love for the Earth, her elements, and the stories woven into them.

When I’m not crafting, you’ll find me drinking a warm cup of tea while reading a book, or hiking in some majestic mountain and camping with the most amazing view. My yoga practise is my sanctuary—it’s what grounds me and makes me feel most at home no matter where I am. And I love nothing more than spending time with friends and beloved people, talking for hours or sitting around a bonfire under a starry nightsky.

My Creative Roots

As far as I remember myself, I have always loved creating with my hands; from painting and making macrame bracelets to sewing clothes for my dolls and weaving in my tiny toy loom. My family line is full of creative spirits so it's no surprise that I am one as well. My dad has always been a big inspiration in my life. Since I was a little girl, I remember him handcrafting constantly and in every possible place; sketching in the car while waiting for me and my brother to finish school, carving woods in the beach or building the furniture in our home. Now in his retirement, he's a happy full-time wood sculptor and I'm always excited to work and learn from him every time I have the chance.

A Journey Of Self Discovery

In 2019, I made a bold decision: I left my home country, Greece, to embark on a journey of exploration. Little did I know how much this adventure would shape my life. I met people who changed my perspective forever, including a pivotal experience volunteering at a forest kindergarten and Montessori school in the Czech Republic. There, I spent three magical years surrounded by mystical forests and a community deeply connected to the Earth. This was where I first embraced a more sustainable way of living—a turning point that shifted the course of my life.

Finding My Path In Iceland

From the Czech Republic, my journey led me to Iceland, the land of ice and fire. There, in the remote East, I enrolled in a one-year program in “Creative Sustainability” at Hallormsstaðaskóli. That year was transformative. I dove deeper into new forms of creativity, learning techniques like weaving, hand-spinning wool, knitting, eco-printing, and more. It was during this time that my passion for fibers and textiles truly blossomed.

Following My Dharma

I had already been crocheting for many years and taken some baby steps towards creating my own small business. But it was only with the help of my teachers and support of my close friends that this idea went further. As a dear friend of mine said, when I was in very low spirits: "Natalia, you're in your Dharma! When you live in your Dharma, everything else will follow". What a journey it has been; learning to listen to the voice within and trust every step of the way no matter how unclear it feels at times. Pouring my heart and soul into everything that brings me joy has become my guiding force.

And so, NARTURAA was born—a space where my heart, soul, and craft come together.

Coming Home to Greece

While living in Iceland and after completing my studies, I felt a deep pull to come back to Greece. It wasn’t just about returning to my homeland; it was about reconnecting with my roots as a new person—one who had grown, learned, and transformed through years of adventure, creativity, and self-discovery. And so, it happened. Back in my sunny homeland, I’m now exploring new possibilities, blending my journey with the warmth and inspiration of my origins. This is where the next adventure begins.

NARTURAA Today

Today, NARTURAA is more than just a brand; it’s my home, my sanctuary, and my place of freedom. It’s where I pour my love for nature, sustainability, and creativity into every piece I make.
